About Us
What is MHDOS
Malaysian Healthy Diet Online Survey (MHDOS) is an international research project led by Nutrition Society of Malaysia (NSM) in collaboration with The Commonwealth Scientific and Industrial Research Organisation (CSIRO) and Nutrition Division, Ministry of Health Malaysia (MOH) in 2022-2023. The project aims to evaluate the diet quality of Malaysian adults and their compliance with the Malaysian Dietary Guidelines 2020 through an online survey. The research project rationale and methodology has been published here. Through the use of a commercial online survey platform, MHDOS successfully gathered responses from more than 11,000 Malaysians and concluded on 31 August 2023. Findings obtained indicate that MHDOS is a useful tool to understand the dietary pattern of the respondents.

Launching of MHDOS@NSM
Recognising the usefulness of the MHDOS, NSM launched the MHDOS@NSM in 2025 to facilitate continuous collection of dietary information beyond the research phase. It is another flagship programme funded by NSM, with the objectives to understand community dietary practices and providing appropriate personalised guidance for dietary improvement. Public are encouraged to use this free survey to know their own diet quality, reflected in a diet score, which is an indication of their compliance with the Malaysian Dietary Guidelines.
